About This Course

This 3-day Project Management with MS Project course is designed to provide participants with a strong foundation in project management principles and practical skills using Microsoft Project. The training focuses on planning, scheduling, resource allocation, tracking, and controlling projects effectively.

Participants will learn how to manage real-world projects—particularly in engineering, construction, and technical environments—by applying best practices and hands-on exercises using Microsoft Project.

  • Create and manage project schedules using Microsoft Project

  • Define tasks, milestones, and dependencies effectively

Prerequisites

  • Basic computer skills

  • Basic understanding of project or site operations is an advantage

  • Linking tasks, constraints, critical path introduction

 

Day 2

Resource Management

  • Creating resources, assigning work, material and cost resources

Resource Optimization

  • Resolving over-allocation, resource leveling

Cost Planning & Budget Control

  • Setting project costs, tracking budgets, cost tables

Baselines & Project Tracking

  • Setting baselines, updating progress, variance analysis

 

Day 3

Project Monitoring & Control

  • Tracking progress, rescheduling tasks, managing changes

Reporting & Dashboards

  • Standard reports, custom views, visual report

Best Practices for Engineering & Construction Projects

  • Applying Microsoft Project to civil and construction scenarios
